A Lenten Challenge
Often times, we hear about giving things up for Lent. Many of us have engaged in this activity in the past. Lent is a season of spiritual self-reflection, revival, and recommittal. Sacrificing and giving things up is one way to engage this mindset. But this year, we are advocating for something a little bit different. Rather than giving something up for Lent, what would happen if we would all take something up? We can still engage in a season of reflection, revival, and recommittal by being active rather than passive.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction.
Hebrews 6:10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
